Arch/Artix X11 video driver notes Last updated : 10/7/2026 Changelog : 10/7/2026 - HP Elitebook 845 G7. 10/6/2026 - typo correction. Also maybe clean install next time for me if I were to use this note. 26/5/2026 - Resolved(?) fucked framerate in T470 (i5-6300U, Intel HD 520) by replacing mesa 26.1.1-2 with mesa-amber. Currently the 2 mentioned games run relatively smoothly, under OpenGL 3.0 backend. 25/5/2026 - Initial commit Nvidia-less Thinkpad T470 (i5-6300U, Intel wi-fi card, Intel HD 520 GPU) - intel-media-driver - libva-intel-driver (not sure but kept around) - mesa-amber (for i965 driver; iris driver reported as troublesome) - xlibre-video-intel (or xf86-video-intel if xorg instead of xlibre) - linux-firmware-intel (FOR OUR BLUE AND PURE WORLD!!!) + Known issues : - Mesa 26.1.1-2 set at compatibility mode, slow framerate while gaming (luanti, shattered pixel dungeon) Currently resolved by replacing mesa with mesa-amber. HP Elitebook 845 G7 (Ryzen 5 Pro 4650U, Radeon graphics, Intel AX200 wi-fi) - vulkan-radeon - mesa (as installed by default following the next one) - xlibre-video-amdgpu (also drags mesa in alongside xlibre-xserver) - linux-firmware-amdgpu - linux-firmware-intel (like a Balaena, Lohengrin, or Tannhauser. The blue comes with the red.) More to be added if I get the money, time, & will to spend on another computer. Or if I get the permission to fuck around with the others' computers.
